Believing God

                                                       Written by Beth Moore

There are books that are theological books, books that are meant to give instructions on the various topics of faith, books that are references. Then there are books that are a cross between a teaching book and a guidance.
To me, this book opened my eyes to where I was failing. I was failing myself because in my Christian walk, I was doubting. Not doubting there is a God or that He can and does do magnificent things. I doubted that He would do great things for me. Because of a less than perfect past. (Who has one of those?)
This book gives a guideline on how to get past the doubts, fears and excuses to a point where one can see how to believe. How to trust and how to live in love. Each chapter filled with directional signs just waiting to be found and understood. Many times I could see myself in situations and comments, each time there was a way explained on how to get past those and leave them behind and Believe.
I read books like these, not as a way to find my beliefs, but as a way to help make my belief better and stronger. I read them, seeking the information that God would have me see and using it as God would have it used.
I will remember this, explained all through the book:
God is who He says He is.
God can do what He says He can do.
I am who God says I am.
I can do all things through Christ.
God's Word is alive and active in me.
For me, this is a book that was well worth the read. It explains in her words and through scripture, how God does want us to seek, follow and believe not only in His existence, but in His power, His glory, His never ending, never failing love.
