Life on Mission; Joining the Everyday Mission of God
Written by Dustin Willis / Aaron Coe
Christians know of the command known as the Great Commission, Go and make disciples. But what does that involve? First one must understand the Gospel, the Good News. Understand the truth of how Christ stepped down from His place in Heaven, was born of a virgin, as a man taught and showed the glory of the Father. He died on a cross, His life an atonement for the sins of mankind. On the third day He was raised, defeating sin and making the way possible for all to be saved.
This book explains the purpose of being a missionary, even and especially right where you are with the people you know and those you don't. It gives you a foundation to build on, the practices involved, and the pitfalls to watch out for.
Within the pages there were many tips and ideas shared on how one can reach out to others, and show Christ first. To help those in need. To listen when someone simply needs to talk. The explanation of how one cannot go it alone, it does take a community. We are each given a gift, the strength of those gifts build on each other.
In the end, as long as our ministry is truly built on sharing Christ and His love, and not on trying to earn points, as long as we understand that though we may plant a seed, it is God who does the work and brings about the harvest.
