Anxious for Nothing Finding Calm in a Chaotic World

                                                            Written by Max Lucado

I was intrigued by this book being that I have dealt with panic attacks and been told by more than one person that I worry way too much. My response that I was taught by the best (my own mother) has been met with the various ways of saying, you need to get over it. Seeing this book on a shelf in a big box store, I knew I had to read this book. I had to find out if I would find the ways to 'get over it' within its pages.
 Two words, I did.
The book discusses anxiety, fear, stress; their causes, and what we endure because of these and other emotions of the same vein. It also and more importantly, explains in detail, how trusting in the Lord, taking all of our concerns- good and bad- to Him makes all the difference. It explains, in detail, how God not only wants to hear from us, hear all of the details of our needs, fears, concerns, He enjoys hearing the sound of our voice when we speak to Him.
There are also questions at the back half of the book that helps to bring the explanations and topics into a more clear focus and greater understanding.  After those are the listings of scriptures.
After reading this book, I realize how I've been stuck on the bank of the river If Only, and understand that what I need, is not on the other side, it is on this side and I've been not seeing fully, not trusting completely, not understanding thoroughly the very answer that was right before me. Trust in the Lord, for He is with (me) us always. Trust in the Lord, for He loves us, protects us, provides for us, and for that, we should always live a life of gratitude, not one filled with anxiety and fear.
